Other recognized activities

The CIM and COD study courses recognise activities other than a period spent with a company as a curricular internship, accrediting the relative CFUs.

Work experience

Students can ask that their job be recognized as a curricular internship (for 6 CFUs; this also includes National Civil service) on condition that:

– they have a contract for regular, continuous work and not occasional employment;

– the skills acquired and exercised during work are consistent with the training envisaged for the course of study.

For their job to be recognized as a curricular internship, students need to submit:

  • A signed report that explains the activities carried out and the duties covered, highlighting the professional skills in the field of communication acquired and/or developed during work, and affirming the consistency between the professional experience they have gained and the university training path.
  • A letter from their employer, on letterhead, which describes the duration of the work period and the roles they were assigned (this should be signed and stamped)
  • A copy of the contract as proof of their employment.

Students then need to submit  or sent via email  (using ONLY their university email account ) to the CIM-COD INTERNSHIP OFFICE (stagecim@unipv.it)

Once the Office has sent all submitted documents to the person responsible for internships, the student will then be informed of the evaluation and, if this is positive,  the Student Administration Office will be required to assign the credits.

It is therefore not possible to have these activities accredited as a supplementary internship module.

International Mobility

According to agreements stipulated by the University of Pavia as part of international exchange programmes or bilateral agreements with foreign Institutions, it is possible for students to ask for the recognition of international mobility activities carried out during their time at university.

Mobility for educational purposes (Erasmus + study et similia) corresponds to 6 CFUs (internship module or supplementary internship module), while mobility for an internship (Erasmus Traineeship et similia) corresponds to 6 or 12 CFUs, depending on the activities carried out.

The recognition of the CFUs normally takes place on the basis of the agreements governing mobility, and is communicated directly to the educational facilities at the end of the period spent abroad by the International Mobility Office. The former then  accredit the respective credits on the basis of the procedures and regulations in force.
